Palm OS emulator for iPhone and iPod touch
A premise: This article is a high rate of nostalgia. Nostalgia for those - and there are many among MacUser - who have owned, used and "consumed" at least a Palm Pilot, have connected the serial cable to a Performa fingers crossed hoping to get a sync, have "sanded" the pen to avoid scraping the delicate touch-screen, have your Palm connected to the phone via infrared, spent the night in front of a small B / W screen backlit in green.
It seems a century has passed since then (and in computer terms it really is), but now there is hope that all the huge database of programs and utilities for Palm OS - many simple, but some still unsurpassed for comfort and "cunning" - can be used through the sophisticated Multi-touch for iPhone and iPod touch .
All thanks to StyleTap , software house that already produces a Palm OS emulator for Windows Mobile devices, and which has made a beta of this emulator for OS X Mobile, whose operation is shown in the video above.
Now, the company has now committed to the production of this software, nor has launched a program of public beta testing: it all depends on the characteristics of the official SDK (which we hope is not imminent and belated) and, above all, the interest that raise this solution.
's up to you, therefore, commit to promote their birth; paraphrase an old saying: "Nostalgic of the world, unite!"
