- Gather all the tools you need . All of these can be purchased online in packs. A simple search on Google, "repair kit screen iPhone" will produce a variety of results. In addition, the stores provide all elements except the screen. Order materials offline will ensure that you get the correct size and the correct type if you are unsure.
- Look at the bottom of your iPhone (the side with the home button) and locate the two screws on each side of the USB connector . Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the # 00 screws. (Note that you should not remove the SIM card to open the phone, as shown elsewhere on the web.)
- Searching cord plies in the upper right which hold the screen and the telephone sets . You will see labels 1 and 2 bright orange stickers on these sheets. Lift them with your tool. (Note: The # 2 sticker on the phone used in this tutorial is missing.)
- Remove 6 screws more There are 5 screws on the side rails : 3 on the side with tablecloths and 2 on the other side. The sixth screw is in the top right. All these 6 screws are the same, so it should not worry about where each would score. There is a black tape on some screws in this step. The black tape is not needed, so you can use your razor blade to cut the tape over each screw head.
- Separate the LCD glass Put your tool between the rails and lift the piece . The LCD will drag the "Home" button to release the top edges. Do not be afraid to apply a little pressure since the metal does not deform. This step will free the LCD metal frame.
- Clean the broken glass from the metal chassis . This step is the most difficult and take time, but make sure it is done so that the new screen is snug. The specific approach to take will depend on how the glass broke, but do not be afraid to use force as long as you do not bend the metal frame / plastic because you will reuse. Use your razor blade or other device to get stuck pieces of glass and old glue residue remaining. Some people recommend using a heat gun or hair dryer, but be careful as this may deform the frame if it is twisted while applying heat. In this case, you have to heat it again to give it its form again. Dissolves the glue with rubbing alcohol, then try to clean it with a Q-tip, and then use the razor blade.
- Prepare your new screen . If you have double-sided tape, make sure to cut properly. If you have glue, make sure when applying that you do not apply too close to the home button. Apply glue only, any, all black plastic on the bottom or top, avoiding the middle. You will not want to paste the home button or the earpiece at the top. Allow the glue to take a few minutes to make sure it is fixed. If you use double-sided tape, consider using tongs to handle so that you do not leave fingerprints on the tape, reducing its membership. Make sure you remove the protective plastic on the new glass where it will touch the tape.
- Start up your iPhone . Turn the LCD and glass together again. There are two ways to place the screen and only one is correct. On the one hand, the rail is longer than the other, so it is a quick way to match. You may find it easier to slide the LCD screen from the bottom so that the small ribbon slides as it should.
